Polster predicts Germany will win Euro 2008, Austria are rank outsiders

Germany is good enough to win a record fourth title at Euro 2008 while co-hosts Austria will go out early, former Austria forward Toni Polster said on Tuesday night.

Polster told reporters that he rates Germany, World Cup winners Italy and World Cup finalists France highest from the 16 teams qualified for the June 7-29 tournament in Austria and Switzerland.

The Germans will then lift the trophy, said Polster, who is is an Austrian ambassador for the tournament.

The current Austrian team, by contrast "is probably the biggest outsider" in tournament history. Pitted in a group with the Germans, Croatia and Poland, Polster said it would be "a sensation" if the co- hosts made the knockout stages
